Hello! My name is Kim Condon. I am a licensed Aesthetician. I received my training from the Ms Institute of Aesthetics, Nails & Cosmetology- Clinton, MS as well as my certification for sugaring from SugarStreak- SanAntonio, Tx. I decided to open the Skincare Studio as an appointment only facility vs. walk-in to provide a private, professional atmosphere that caters to you and only you. I know for myself that as a paying client, I prefer to be treated as someone special and not just another person waiting to be next in line. With this in mind, this is the message I want to relay:Everyone is someone special and we all have needs. These needs should be nurtured to contribute to your inner peace/happiness. If relaxation is your need, then I would be happy to provide you with an hour long facial that will provide you with total tranquility and relaxation. If knowing what to do for your skincare regimen is your need, then I would be happy to analyze your skin and educate you on the appropriate products for your skin type. If being hairless is your need, then being sugared is for you. It not only removes unwanted hair, but it exfoliates the skin to leave you feeling silky soft! Body Sugaring

Includes cleansing, toning and prepping area for the hair removal process. Clients are asked to refrain from shaving for a minimum of 5 days prior to the treatment. NOTE: Clients receiving underarm, back or bikini sugaring should be advised to bring a clean white shirt or underwear for after the treatment. Because Skincare Studio is by appointment only; your appointment time is reserved exclusively for you and we request that you please review our cancellation policy.Cancellation Policy...If you need to reschedule or cancel an appointment, we require a minimum of 24-hours notice. If you need to cancel your appointment, please call or text to 601-573-5032. If there is no answer, please leave your information on the voice mail and/or text your cancellation as proof of your cancellation contact.Please keep in mind that "No-shows" or last minute cancellations are not respectful of the studio or other clients who could have come in at your appointment time. We do understand that things happen beyond our control and will do our best to accommodate your needs.Because of this, clients that do not honor their appointments will be charged a cancellation fee of 50% of their scheduled service, and a credit card will be expected to be on file for any future appointments missed.

Tips for a less painful sugaring

1.Plan to sugar AFTER your period. Your pain threshold is higher in the week after your period than beforehand. Think of it like this: If sappy commercials make you cry when you're premenstrual, having sugar applied to your dainty bits certainly will. 2.Lose your self-consciousness. Yes, a stranger is going to see you wearing, at most, a paper thong. Don't worry about offending her or feeling embarrassed. It's nothing she hasn't seen before. The less anxious you are, the less you'll worry about pain.3.Start off slowly. Your first bikini sugar is not the time to try a Brazilian. If you're new to sugaring, go with a basic bikini. You can always decide to remove more the next time around.4.Exfoliate. The day before you decide to be sugared, exfoliate in the shower. This will remove dead skin, allowing the sugar to grip shorter hairs. DO NOT exfoliate the day of, it will only make the area to be sugared more sensitive.5.Speak up. A good esthetician will work with you to make sure you're as comfortable as you can be. Don't be shy to say something if you have a low pain toleranceit's better to speak up than to suffer in silence. 6.Take an over-the-counter pain reliever. About an hour before your appointment, take a Tylenol, but stay away from aspirin or arthritis medicines because they cause your blood to thin and could cause bruising. 7.Breathe. It can be tempting to hold your breath, but breathing in and out helps reduce the pain. Take a deep breath in when the sugar goes on, then breathe out when your esthetician gives it a yank.8.Know which parts are most sensitive. You wouldn't expect it, but having hair pulled from the lower abdomen area is more painful than it is around the genital area. 9.Turn your head and cough. When the sugar is about to be ripped off, cough. It distracts from the pain, and trust me, it works!
Body Sugaring Hair Removal Client Questions / Home Care InstructionsHow does body sugaring work?The warmed sugar paste is molded onto the body area several times using a gloved hand. As this is being molded the sugar paste is able to melt into the hair follicle allowing an easier, gentle extraction from the root. With a flicking motion the hair is gently lifted out of the follicle by the root.Is it going to hurt?Sugaring is removing the hair by the root, so you will feel the extractions. Some clients feel a tingling sensation, such as removing a band-aid. With repeated treatments, this sensation is minimized as the hair becomes more refined and the hair bulb is smaller. How long does it last?Rate of hair growth depends on the individual person. Expect to be ready for another sugaring within 3-6 weeks. Hair can be extracted as short as 1/16th inch. For a quicker diminishment of hair growth, do not allow it to get any longer than 1/8th inch.What should I do before my appointment?No sun tanning prior to treatment. Avoid stimulants such as caffeine. Keeping your skin exfoliated and hydrated is very important; however do NOT exfoliate the day of the treatment.What should I do after my appointment?You may feel a little sensitive. Avoid any creams, lotions or deodorants with artificial fragrances. Do not use any products with hydroxy acids for at least 24-48 hours. This could cause more sensitivity.Salt compressesTo speed healing you can apply a salt water compress. Salt acts as a catalyst and speeds up the healing process. Dissolve ½ teaspoon salt in ¼ cup warm water. Saturate a cotton pad and apply to sugared area.Dead Sea Salt Soak – Dissolve ½ cup sea salt to a warm tub. Soak for no longer than 15 minutes, or skin will become dehydrated. Rinse off to remove all salt residues.ExfoliationExfoliation is very important. Use exfoliating gloves daily in the shower/tub to remove dead skin cells. The hair is missing out of the follicle for approximately 3 weeks. This allows the dead skin cells to grow over the mouth of the follicle. Exfoliating will allow the hair to grow up and out. Sugar scrubs are also effective.NOTE: For Bikini/Brazilian Sugaring - Please use PDK antiseptic towelette you were given. Medical experts also recommend abstaining from sexual activity for the first 48 hours after any type of bikini hair removal. This time period is when your body is most susceptible to outside bacteria which can potentially cause an infection.
